US based Artificial Intelligence search engine Perplexity has rolled out Perplexity finance in India allowing all users free, real time access to premium financial data that is usually paywalled. The service currently supports desktop, mobile web and the Perplexity app provides free live BSE and NSE stock prices, company earnings, crypto insights and deep analytics.
Its India-specific version includes the ability to follow market trends, look at past data, download finances in the form of Excel files and even see AI-written summaries and deep-dive analytics. It is easy to search by typing and searching “Reliance stock” or “Tata share price” can be searched instantly and at the same time live updates, explanations of any significant movements in the price as well as bull and bear case analysis are reported.
It has a home page of markets, individual stocks and cryptocurrencies links, company financials as well as live earnings reports provided in the Finance home page. Other capabilities such as automatic stock searches using natural-language tools and price alerts are expected soon.
According to Jeff Grimes, Head of Live Events Product at Perplexity, “a lot of these details you find usually have a paywall on another site.” We offer it free to every user.” He also stated that the AI functions of the platform accelerate the financial research, thus valuable to both occasional followers and hardcore investors.
The use of Perplexity Finance has increased eight times since spring and has already become one of the most fast-growing sectors of the company. Through the launch, it is hoped that market information will be in reach of all retail investors, including professionals, who do not have to subscribe or be experts to get the information.
Perplexity now also has specialised tabs on its home page for Travel and Education, in addition to Finance. Having the premium-quality market data of world markets directly available, at no extra cost, Perplexity is shaping up to be an adoptable platform when it comes to monitoring the stocks of the Indian markets, crypto markets and corporate earnings.
