Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched multiple projects in Purnea district, Bihar, worth at least Rs 36,000 crores, on Monday. The PM addressed a rally in the district, where he also slammed the Congress and RJD for hindering development in the state.

The PM inaugurated the new airport in Purnea and its first flight to Kolkata. He further announced funding for various projects such as the thermal power plant at Bhagalpur, Kosi-Mechi River Link Project, new rail lines and commencement of Vande Bharat and Amit Bharat trains. Under the National Rural Livelihoods Mission, he also contributed funds worth Rs 500 crores.

The rally also included the announcement of the National Makhana Board for farmers and GST cuts, to make goods such as stationery and shoes cheaper. In a jibe against the opposition, the PM accused the Congress and the RJD for being unable to ‘digest’ the state’s development.

Addressing the gathering, he also stated the opposition was protecting infiltrators; migrants from Bangladesh. “Bihar had suffered a lot due to misgovernance by the RJD and the Congress. They can’t digest the state’s development. Mothers and sisters will give the opposition a befitting reply in the polls,” said Modi, appealing to the women.

He also claimed the RJD government was abandoning the Seemanchal area and hindering Bihar’s development. “For RJD and Congress, the biggest concern is to worry about their own family. These people will never worry about your family. But for Modi, you all are Modi’s family. And that is why Modi says ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’… Modi cares about your expenses, cares about your savings.” the prime minister stated, thus announcing GST cuts for the festive season,” said PM Modi.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also expressed his full support for the NDA, denouncing any alliance with the Congress.
