In a display of fellowship and unity, Rotary clubs across Pimpri came together on Friday at Hotel Kalasagar to warmly welcome the participants from Karnataka taking part in the “Chikkamagaluru to Pune road safety and environmental drive”.
The car rally was organized by the Rotary Club of Coffeeland, Chikkamagaluru (Rotary International, aka RI District 3182), and they were received by the local Rotary fraternity of District 3131. The welcome event was jointly organized by the Rotary Club of Pimpri Elite, Rotary Club of Pimpri, and Rotary Club of Bhosari Dynamic. The entire event was planned and executed by President Rotarian (Rtn) Irfann Aawate and his Rotary Club of Pimpri Elite (RCPE) Elite team, along with President Rtn. Anand Sampath and President Rtn. Dr. Santosh More. The overall arrangements and execution of the meeting were skillfully guided by Past District Governor (PDG) Rtn. Subodh Joshi and CP Rtn. Ravindra Bhave.
The meeting was honored by chief guest Rtn. Santosh Marathe, district governor of RI District 3131, and DGN Rtn. Nitin Dhamale. The rally’s focus was on environmental conservation, and it deeply resonated with DG Marathe, a well-known advocate for ecological causes. This meeting emphasizes the twin concerns of road safety and environmental conservation. In his address, he stressed the urgent need for protecting nature and commended Rotary International’s sustained contributions to environmental causes. He added that such cross-state drives play a very vital role in building bridges of friendships and collaborations among the clubs and strengthen its spirit of Rotary.
The deep connection between the Rotary clubs was further highlighted by the fact that Rtn. Sheetal Arjunwadkar and CP Rtn. Ravindra Bhave from the Rotary club of Pimpri Elite had previously travelled to Chikkamagaluru, and has undoubtedly helped in forging strong bonds that have made this welcome possible.
The visiting delegation from the Rotary club of Coffee land, Chikkamagaluru, was led by their president Rtn. RHF Nagesh Kenjige and secretary Rtn. Anand M. The drive was steered by Rtn. RHF Nasir Hussain as the drive chairman and Rtn. PHF Gurumurthy B.K. as the drive coordinator. Dignitaries from the Rotary Club of Bagalkote (RI District 3182)also joined the event, including president Rtn. Malikarjun S. Hadil, Secretary Rtn. Santosh Patil, Treasurer Rtn. Er Prakash Bhutal, and assistant governor Rtn. Er Narayan Herkal.
The “Greet and meet” event underscored Rotary’s commitment to road safety awareness and environmental responsibility. It has also reflected the power of Rotary fellowship in uniting communities across regions to drive social change. The successful rally and its grand welcome stand as a testament to the power of Rotary in driving positive changes through unity and service.
