On the occasion of Independence Day, Akshay Kumar got Indian Citizenship. He was often trolled on social media by people calling him ‘Canada Kumar’ because he had Canadian citizenship while paying taxes in India. His will to get citizenship in India is now complete.
Akshay Kumar has given proof of getting Indian citizenship on Twitter and also shared a copy of the documents. Wishing Happy Independence Day, Akshay Kumar has written, “Heart and citizenship are both Indian. Jai Hind.” Akshay Kumar is getting a lot of congratulations for this post. His fans have written, – Finally, haters have stopped talking.
Even before Canadian citizenship, Akshay had Indian citizenship. When his films were not doing well, Akshay was thinking of living in Canada. Akshay had also said in the conversation, “A few years ago, my films were not doing well and about 14-15 films were flopping, so I thought maybe I should go and work elsewhere.”
However, facing constant criticism regarding Canadian citizenship, he applied to get Indian citizenship back in the year 2019. “India is everything to me,” claimed Akshay. “Everything I have acquired comes from here. And it’s a blessing that I was able to return the favor. People making ignorant statements make you feel bad” he further added.
Then, in the 1990s, several consecutive Akshay films flopped. He said that his films’ underwhelming box office results were what motivated him to apply for Canadian citizenship.” He further said, ‘I had only two films left to release, and it is a matter of luck that both of them became superhits. I had a friend in Canada so I contacted him and went to work there.’

I made a few more films and kept getting more work. With this, I forgot that I have a passport. I never thought that I should get this passport replaced.”
