A 24-year-old woman was arrested in Delhi after being accused of killing her live-in partner’s son. The woman attempted to conceal the dead boy’s body in a bed box after the murder.
Pooja Kumari, a resident of Ranhola, Delhi, has been named as the accused. Divyansh, an 11-year-old kid, was the victim. The woman’s suspicion that the boy was to blame for his father not seeking a divorce was cited by the police as the alleged cause of the murder.
On August 10, at around 8.30 p.m., a deceased 11-year-old boy named Divyansh was carried to BLK Hospital. The Police were contacted once the hospital discovered something was wrong. The hospital staff informed the Delhi police that they had discovered strangling marks on the boy’s neck. While investigating the case, over 300 recordings and footage from CCTV were reviewed.
The accused, Pooja Kumari, was the last to see the 11-year-old boy alive, according to a thorough review of the CCTV footage. According to the police, when the accused entered the home, the youngster was asleep when she choked him. Kumari also attempted to conceal the body under the bed box.
According to the police, the woman and the boy’s deceased father, Jitender, lived together. In October 2019, they were ceremonially married in the Arya Samaj Temple. Since Jitender had not formally separated from his first wife, they were unable to get legally married. Later, due to disputes, Jitender left Pooja’s home, where he had been living with her since. Delhi Police stated that Pooja believed Jitender’s son was the reason he had not yet divorced his first wife and hence, made the decision to kill the young boy.
