As vote counting began for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections on January 16, Shiv Sena (UBT) leaders spoke in confidence about the results.
Party leader Anand Dubey said the party had gained strength after the Thackerays came together.
He said, “We have gained strength with the Thackerays coming together. We are hopeful that the results will be in our favour.”
Calling the day long-awaited, Dubey said the campaign focused on development, youth issues and women’s safety. “We have done our duty; now we await the people’s blessings,” he said. He added that the party hopes to form the BMC government and have a Marathi Mayor, with clearer results expected by the afternoon.
