The vote counting for the high-stakes BMC elections began. 1,700 candidates are vying for 277 wards. 

The results for wards have been updated as vote counting continues. Asha Deepak Kale, a Congress candidate, has won from ward 183 in Dharavi in Mumbai. Shiv Sena candidate Vaishali Shewale has lost by 1,450 votes. She is the sister-in-law of MP Rahul Shewale.

The election results were updated. Ward 1, Dahisar, has been won by the BJP’s Rekha Yadav. Ward 165 (Kurla West in Mumbai) was won by the Congress candidate, Ashraf Azami.

Dahisar-Borivalli in Mumbai ward was won by Tejaswi Ghosalkar, a BJP candidate, according to the recent updates at 12:04. Four winners have emerged from the BMC polls. 214 Ward, Breach Candy, was won by Ajay Patil. Santosh Damale, a BJP candidate, wore 215. Shiv Sena Candidate-UBT, Kiran Bhalsaraf, was defeated.

The BJP again retained a seat at Ward 20. Dipak Tavde, a BJP candidate, won by 2,738 votes, a slight margin. 56% of votes were cast in the ward. Ward 51, Goregaon, was won by Varsha Tendulkar; Eknath led Shiv Sena, which won the seat. Dombivali Panel 21 (A) was won by a Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) candidate, Pralhad Parshuram Mhatre. Panel 21 (B) was won by the BJP’s Ravina Rahul Mhatre. From Panel 21 C from Rekha Janardan Mhatre from the Shinde faction.

Ward 124, Vikroli, was won by Sakina Shaikh. Jyoti Haron Khan was defeated. In ward 182, Mahim, Milind Vaidya from Shiv Sena (UBT) won.
