“I’m a changed man now,” stated by  Ishan Kishan, and his performances at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 proved it right.

Since returning to the international fold for the recent T20I series against the New Zealand national cricket team, Kishan has made  a compelling comeback. After dismantling the Kiwi attack to power India to a dominant 4–1 series victory and reclaim his spot in the first-choice XI, the 27-year-old cricketer has carried that momentum into the World Cup.

His latest statement  came against the Namibia National Cricket team at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Thursday ,February 12, 2026. Kishan’s blistering 61 off just 24 balls set the tone for an imposing 93-run win for the co-hosts. Mixing a clean power-hitting with calculated aggression, he took the attack to the bowlers from the outset, underlining his confidence and clarity which is now defining his game.

This bounce-back has  given his journey over the past two years. In  2023, during India’s tour to South Africa, Kishan requested a break from the national team because of mental fatigue. What followed was a long  period on the sidelines, raising  worries about his international future.

Now, he appears in a good spirit and  focused. “I think I’m a changed man now, to be honest,” Kishan stated. “Earlier I used to joke around 24×7, but now it’s just for a few hours. I’m focusing more on my batting and wicket-keeping. Everything else is secondary.” He credited head coach Gautam Gambhir for helping him to develop greater discipline and clarity in his approach.

With India’s campaign gathering pace, Kishan’s resurgence could prove pivotal. His renewed mindset, along with explosive form, has not only revitalized his career but also strengthened India’s quest for T20 glory.
