On December 10, 2025, the massive American multinational tech giant, Amazon, announced plans to invest $35 billion through 2030 in India across all its businesses. The announcement was made at the Sixth Edition of the Sambhav Summit of Amazon. It has already invested $40 billion in the country till now.

The Keystone Strategy’s Economic Impact Report stated Amazon’s cumulative $40 billion investment. The investment included the development of physical assets and compensatory benefits to its employees, which made the company the largest foreign investor and the largest e-commerce export enabler in India. It is one of the biggest jobs for reinvesting MNCs in India.

Amazon has enabled the digitisation of more than 12 million smaller businesses, the export of cumulative e-commerce of $20 billion and assisted 2.8 million of all types of jobs across various industries in India in 2024. The work roles ranged from technology to customer support.

“We are humbled to have been a part of India’s digital transformation journey over the past 15 years, with Amazon’s growth in India perfectly aligned with the vision of an Atmanirbhar and Viksit Bharat,” says Amit Agarwal, Senior VP Emerging Markets, Amazon. “We have invested at scale in growing the physical and digital infrastructure for small businesses in India, creating millions of jobs, and taking Made-in-India global.”

Amazon has supported the workforce in packaging, technology and logistics and helped thousands of smaller businesses and entrepreneurs grow in the market.

With the $35 billion planned to be invested by 2030, Amazon aims for further acceleration of digital transformation, the strengthening of infrastructure and digital transformation and assistance to innovation throughout the country.

Amazon wants to provide 15 million smaller businesses benefits of AI with sellers on their online e-commerce website using tools like Next Gen Selling and Seller assistant, enhance buying experience through Lens for Visual Discovery, multilingual experiences and  Shopping with Rufus. Equip 4 million government schools with education in AI and career opportunities, supporting the Indian National Democracy Policy 2020.
