England announces their strong and daring group for the upcoming Ashes tour to Australia. The eagerly awaited and much-anticipated five-match test series kicks off on September 21st in Perth and will be led by all-rounder Ben Stokes and will take place as part of their current ICC World Test Championship cycle.
Although Stokes is still working his way back from a shoulder injury, he did miss the fifth Test match against India in July-August. The all-rounder is envisioned to have a great form, which adds to their resilient batting lineup.
The 16-member squad includes spinner Shoaib Bashir and pacer Mark Wood, who are returning to the red ball format after a long time.
Bashir got ruled out in the India test series and was pulled in midway after sustaining a finger injury during the Lord’s Test. On the other Hand, Mark Wood is all set to make his mark in the format after a serious left knee injury.
Team England played a fiery and dramatic series against India atLord’s this year at their home, but the upcoming series will be marked as their second assignment to make their place in the World Test Championship.
England also announced their white-ball squad for the tour of New Zealand to be preceded just after the Ashes. The series will be led by the Harry book, featuring three T20s starting October 18.
The England-Australia rivalry is always admired in the cricket world, and so the upcoming series is one of the much awaited due to the dynamics, thrill and drama both teams bring, as both sides depict their utmost competitive spirit.
