Vasai-Virar, a municipal corporation consisting of Vasai, Virar, Nalasopara and Navghar-Manikpur has a total of 115 seats being contested for with over 12 lakh registered voters. In the 2015 Vasai-Virar City Municipal Corporation elections, the Bahujan Vikas Aghadi secured a massive victory, winning a 106 seats out of the available 115.
Following the second round of counting votes for the Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation elections, the Bahujan Vikas Aghadi (BVA) has a massive lead with 113 seats. In contrast, Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena is leading with two seats, whereas the other parties,including the BJP, Shiv Sena (Shinde), the Congress, both NCP factions and smaller parties have yet to register a single seat.
