On August 18, an Indian couple, including their six-year-old child, were found deceased in the US province of Maryland. The official authorities believe it was a double suicide murder. According to authorities, the three individuals, hailing from Karnataka, were killed due to fatal gunshot wounds. The bodies are said to have been found in their Baltimore County home.

The victims’ identities are said to be Prathiba Y Amarnath (37), Yogesh H Nagarajappa (37), and Yash Honnal (6). According to the police, it was a family of three, husband, wife, and son. According to the Baltimore Police Department, preliminary investigations indicate that it is a case of double murder-suicide. Additional information in this case, as per what the authorities have released, states that the family members were last seen alive on Tuesday evening. Currently, there will be an autopsy that will be performed by the Office of the Chief Medical Officer. This is to ascertain the exact cause and manner of death.

Despite suspicions that suicide was the cause of the tragic incident, Shobha believes it to be foul play. Yogesh’s mother said that her son had contacted her a few days prior to make sure she knew everything was well. She claimed that he made barely any mention of any issues he could have been having and that nothing seemed off. The Baltimore police authorities have released a statement regarding their efforts in the investigation, regarding which they want to gain swift clarity. The family had been residing in Baltimore, Maryland, USA, for the last nine years. The couple is said to have been software engineers. They were originally from Hallekallu village in Jagalur Taluk of the Davangere region. In conversation with the Indian Express, Shobha, Yogesh’s mother, stated that her son had been married for a span of nine years. The pair moved to the USA shortly after being married and have been living abroad ever since. Currently, though still in despair, Shobha has sent a letter to federal government officials requesting that they return her son’s, daughter-in-law’s, and grandson’s remains to India.
