Elon Musk is yet again making changes to X, formerly known as Twitter. In the new turn of events, Musk intends to remove headlines from news articles that were previously shared on Twitter. This is apparently done to minimize tweet height and permit more tweets to be accommodated in a user’s timeline. Musk also encourages journalists to utilize this opportunity.

As reported by Fortune, Musk plans to eliminate headlines from news articles posted on X in the near future. Twitter is currently the most popular source of information for its users, with thousands of news stories published on the network by individuals and organizations alike. This change means that when you publish a link on X, it will just showcase an image and a web address overlay. Additionally, there ought to be no news about it. By contrast, clicking on the link is going to take the user directly to the publisher’s website. Musk also encourages journalists to publish directly on the online platform in order to earn more money. The change is intended to minimize the stature of tweets and to reduce clickbait. He feels that this will provide journalists with more freedom and pay.

The aim of this modification seems to be to reduce the amount of vertical space that a tweet takes up on the user’s screen. More postings will be able to fit into the timeline that users view on their screens as a result of this. Previously, a new story appeared on a user’s timeline as a ‘card’ with an image, a short title, and a description. Although the tweet limit was initially set at 140 characters, the format was developed, and because the content within the card had been excluded from the character restriction, it became a significant way of distributing information on Twitter. Though the contradiction here lies, users with premium membership can actually have more characters to add.

With the rate of changes made on the platform, Twitter, now X, has been facing glitches as well. Additionally, users are still coping with the change to the iconic blue birdie. Elon Musk is a billionaire, but his constant changes are always up for debate.
