Jejuri police arrested three men involved in a broad daylight robbery on Saturday after tracing them through drone surveillance cameras. The residents of Daundaj village in Purandar taluka also took part in the chase and helped the police in nabbing the accused.
The arrested have been identified as Lakansingh Dudhani and Bhehatsingh Kalyani from Ramtekdi, Hadapsar. Assistant police inspector Deepak Wakchaure also said that and Ratnesh Puri, the driver who facilitated the robbery, was also arrested. He was from Ajinkya Park MIDC in Chatrapati Sambhajinagar district.
At around 3:15 pm on Saturday, the accused looted cash and other valuables worth over ₹2 lakhs from the house of Prajwal Anata Kadam. They were trying to escape when villagers noticed and started chasing them. The villagers almost caught up with the accused, but the latter managed to flee at gunpoint and go into a nearby sugarcane field.
Over 150 villagers joined hands with the police to surround the area, ensuring a foolproof Operation. The two main robbers have over 30 criminal cases against them. The Jejuri police station, located in the Pune district, has been working tirelessly to address various community needs, and this operation is a testament to their dedication.
