Humane, which is backed by OpenAI founder Sam Altman, has struck up conversations with Indian telecommunication companies to launch a HumaneAI Pin. Co-founder Imran Choudhary said this during a dialogue, ever since the introduction of the product, maximum enquiries have come from India.

He said that he had initiated a conversation early with the Indian telecoms and would make a positive announcement by the end of this year. The company was founded by Former Apple executives Bongirno and Imran Choudhary, in 2017. Humane bulked $200 million from investors like Microsoft, Qualcomm Ventures, and Sam Altman’s OpenAI. The AI is priced at roughly $699. Additionally, the telecom corps have been told to introduce monthly plans starting with $24, covering connectivity, talk time and access to Humane’s AI service. The device is already rolled out in the US markets in partnership with the American telecom giant, T-Mobile.

It recently announced its plans with South Korean carrier SK Telecom as its first international market deal. The pin is a tiny device, a square-shaped PC that can easily rest on your chest with the help of a magnet. You can easily interact with it by using voice instructions and, also operate it with a touchpad on the front. The goal is to have an assistant or a go-to expert to help an individual with any query that is relevant to the present, instead of scrambling for information on your phone. Bethany Bongiorno, CEO and co-founder of the company said that people have the urge to always live in the moment, and the device helps individuals do that.

The AI Pin is unlike other conventional forms of wearable technology, as it uses laser voice and ink technology to communicate with the AI chatbot. They said it is a combination of voice, gesture and touch inputs that allows access to everyday AI services such as translation, navigation, and more. Chaudhari, the co-CEO also said that he is looking for ways to venture into all spaces of professional streams. Medicine is one discipline that can revolutionize the use of AI, for diagnosing the condition using the contextual compute capability.

He further stated that AI pin is an innovative way to connect with technology. There is always a demand for something new and the urge to have something beyond smartphones. They also want presence and freedom. This technology facilitates that perfectly. If we formulate an efficient way to incorporate technology into our lives, we will continue using it democratically. He also says he plans to disrupt the smartphone market so that the device can act as a complementary feature to the smartphones and cultivate a better relationship with the device.
