Twitter has been urging users to subscribe to premium blue memberships, which provide access to additional services behind a paywall, as part of its plan to generate income and engagement. The rebranding might further entice people to sign up for these services. Elon Musk’s Twitter is up against Meta’s Thread, a site comparable to Twitter that already has millions of users.

As of now, the URL x.com redirects to twitter.com, indicating that the world’s largest microblogging platform’s formal branding shift will most likely be announced in the coming days. Musk is also contemplating altering the platform’s default color from white to black.

It’s worth remembering that Elon Musk has experimented with Twitter’s branding before. In April 2023, he changed the blue bird logo with the emblem of Dogecoin, a cryptocurrency, but it was quickly returned to the original logo.
