Abhinav Bindra, an Olympic gold medalist noted down the implications of AI in the world of sports, he made a point that AI is highly revolutionizing many parts of sports tackling the pain points.

The exponential growth of Artificial Intelligence since its introduction has proven to be a neverending saga. There is little doubt in the fact that it is going to have a lasting impact on every aspect of our lives.

The latest advent in the world of sports is Artificial Intelligence, however, the human element is very important and can never be completely taken off, AI has made a cementing impact in sports.

Artificial Intelligence has efficiently enhanced athlete performance records, data analyzing tactics, fan engagement, and customized training programs. AI has successfully paved an efficient model leaving an indelible mark proving itself as an efficient tool.

Abhinav Bindra is an Olympian Gold Medalist who in the tenure of his shooting career went down to the extremes and minutest of details of the sport, this resulted in the crackdown of the code to win leading to India’s first individual Olympic Gold. Abhinav Bindra in 2008 clinched the gold at the 10m Air Rifle event at the Beijing Olympics.

An athlete like him is very well aware of the “pain points” that the sport throws in the way of the athlete trying to fix the faultlines or analyzing the performance over some time to track improvement.

In a conversation with Abhinav Bindra, he said, “ There is no doubt that AI is going to have a huge impact on sports by easing the creases and clearing the faultlines.”

He highlighted AI’s contribution mostly in the coaching of the game, he also talked about how it will democratize the sport to a great level.

Bindra also added that in a country as large as India, not every athlete receives coaching and performance-enhancing tools and AI might change this narrative.

Data is a very important tool in any industry, modern-day science-driven performance analysis will be made easy and efficient with the help of Artificial Intelligence.

With a lot of conversation in sports science, there is a huge amount of number crunching happening, which could be time-consuming, AI is here to solve this dilemma.

Bindra also added that AI is here to create high-quality sports content changing the landscape of the sports fraternity in India.
