Two terrorists have been killed in the Kujjar area of the Kulgam district in an encounter with security officials. The encounter mission that started on Wednesday is ongoing with the officials in search of more terrorists. There has been no information with details about the infiltration.

The Kashmir Police went to the social media platform X and updated them on the situation in Kulgam.

The post reads as:

Two terrorists were killed, bodies were retrieved, and the mission is continuing in full force. The cordon and search operation is still in progress

A cordon and search operation that was started to find all hiding terrorists in the forested area of Kalakote in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir has entered its third day.

As per a quote given by a senior official to India Today, officers are in full swing looking for terrorists in the area. Although there have been no suspects or encounters as of now, security officials remain vigilant.

Advanced technology and surveillance techniques have been employed to aid security officials with the same.

Rajouri and Poonch have been experiencing high levels of terrorist activity this year. It was earlier this year that five soldiers were killed and one was injured in the Poonch attack. The terrorists attacked the lone army truck that was carrying food for Iftar to a nearby village.

The terrorists had used steel bullets to break up targeting, which is said to have been targeted from the front side, followed by other terrorists firing bullets and lobbing grenades onto the truck.

In another instance, five army personnel were killed during a search operation in the Kandi area of Rajouri in May 2023.
