Google, a tech giant, is being targeted by hackers once more in an attempt to expose customer data. A hacking group, known as Scattered LapSus Hunters, threatens to release records if Google does not remove two workers and suspend network delving. If not, the group’s hack will result in a data breach that exposes millions of users’ passwords and other personal information. The names of the employees are Austin Larsen and Charles Carmakal, respectively.
A Newsweek report, representing a post on Telegram, revealed that a hacker group has hovered over Google with a massive data breach affecting millions of users worldwide. The group claims to retain sensitive particular information and has issued two specific demands. First, they want Google’s Threat Intelligence Group to stop its ongoing network examinations. Secondly, they demanded the termination of two of the working employees from Google.
According to the hackers, failure to misbehave with both conditions will affect the release of stoner data encyclopedically. The post has raised concerns over cybersecurity pitfalls targeting major technology companies.
This is a group comprising three different hacking groups, namely Scattered Spider, LapSus, and the ShinyHunters. These organizations have a lengthy history of launching well-publicized cyberattacks and data breaches that have impacted significant businesses and governmental organizations across the globe.
Though the hacker group did send a threatening message, it hasn’t provided any proof that it accessed or stole Google’s data. No recent breaches of Google’s systems have been reported. However, Google did disclose a recent security breach at its third-party provider, Salesforce. Hackers used impersonation and malware to carry out attacks there.
The threat actually follows Google’s announcement in August about the ShinyHunters obtaining information from Salesforce, a third party that assists Google with some services. However, the group did not reveal or provide any evidence that they accessed any Google databases.
Additionally, there have been no recent breaches of Google data. While this is just speculation, authorities are looking into other possible reasons.
The hacking group started their Telegram channel on 8th August, 2025. It showcased a blend of interjected data and seller lists while claiming to have hacked companies like Victoria’s Secret, Gucci, and Neiman Marcus. The group also stated that it successfully penetrated government agencies in the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Brazil, and India.
However, currently the company is urging users to stay on alert to protect themselves from advanced fraud attempts that use stolen business contact information.
