Early results from the Pune Municipal Corporation are in for 66 seats. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading in 44 of them, pointing to a strong showing in the city. The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) is ahead in 16 seats, followed by the Shiv Sena with leads in four seats. The Congress and the Shiv Sena (UBT faction) are each leading in one seat. Overall, the trends so far indicate a clear edge for the BJP as the vote count continues.
