Chrome 115 began to roll out earlier this week. Despite not having any new features, the next version of Chrome will have a tool to assist you in deleting tracking cookies.

Google declared in a blog post that it will soon begin making Privacy Sandbox APIs available. A limited portion of users who have Chrome 115 installed would first receive those APIs, which would then progressively build up over time.

Despite the fact that it may appear contrary to the way Google does business, the corporation created a strategy to do away with browser cookies with its Privacy Sandbox back in 2019. The privacy function is meant to restrict the amount of personal data that marketers can access, not to fully block them from targeting audiences. Google outlined their plans for distributing Privacy Sandbox in May 2023 and said that the procedure will start in late July 2023.

You shouldn’t have to worry about Chrome updating itself to Chrome 115. But n the other hand, Google advises:

Developers must finish the registration and certification procedure in order to use the Privacy Sandbox relevance and measurement APIs on Chrome and Android. We advise you to begin the procedure as soon as you can because it will soon be necessary in order to access the APIs.

Google claims that the transfer time should go smoothly if you enroll before the trial term expires. The business adds that it intends to completely discontinue third-party cookies by Q3 2024.
