In a major crackdown on a high-profile sex racket, the crime branch of Pune police arrested a top model and two Russian women near the Pune airport on Wednesday night. The top model, who is also an upcoming actress from Rajasthan, was allegedly involved in sex work along with other foreign nationals. The police are looking for the main accused, Irfan, Rahul Madan, and Madan Sanyasi, who operate the online sex trade from abroad.
According to the senior officials of the crime branch, the Rajasthan actress had been staying in Pune for the past few months and frequently changed her hotels. The two Russian women also lived in luxury hotels in the city. The agents of the sex racket would contact the customers through WhatsApp and send them photos of the available models. The models would charge thousands of rupees per hour for their services. The customers had to deposit the money in the agent’s account before meeting the models at the designated hotels.
The crime branch got a tip-off about the online sex racket and decided to conduct a raid at a hotel near the airport. The police posed as a customer and asked for the top model. The agent sent them the photo of the Rajasthan actress and fixed the meeting at the hotel. The police reached the hotel and caught the actress red-handed. They also raided another hotel in the Koregaon Park area and rescued the two Russian women. The police have sent all three women to a rescue home and are investigating further. They are trying to find out the actress’s motive and the foreign women’s source.
The Social Security Department of the crime branch carried out the operation under the guidance of senior officials. The police have registered a case under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act. The police have also seized mobile phones and other evidence from the hotels.
