SonyLIV, the OTT platform, has announced a significant update to its streaming offerings. Sony Live TV stations will be removed from the app in the near future. Prior to this adjustment, consumers could view Sony TV channels via the streaming app. The modification will take effect on August 30, 2023. To reflect the new modifications, the streaming platform has also changed its Terms of Service Policy.

Certain major changes are about to happen over SonyLIV. They are as follows:

  • Individual programs and selected films that are shown on linear channels will continue to be available, according to SonyLIV.
  • SonyLIV Live TV provided live broadcasts of several Sony channels such as Sony TV, BBC Earth, SAB TV, Sony Marathi, and Sony Max, as well as sports networks managed by Sony Entertainment Television (India).
  • While the precise reason for the change is unknown, it might be due to the expanding user base of OTT platforms, which has resulted in a decrease in DTH consumers across the country.

Users who like to watch live TV via the internet can do so on different platforms such as Airtel Xstream, Tata Sky Mobile, VOOT, Zee5, Vi Play, and others.

SonyLIV now provides a number of subscription plans to clients, including Rs 599 per year for a mobile-only plan that includes access to all content, Rs 299 per month, Rs 699 for a six-month program, and Rs 999 for a yearly plan. The last two options allow consumers to watch material on two devices at the same time. All options provide access to the premium repertoire in FHD quality and stereo 2.1 audio.
